How it Works
The tracker device uses GPS (GNSS positioning) to provide accurate, real-time tracking of a vessel or vehicle regardless of whether or not it is within range of a mobile (GSM) network. When the mobile network is unavailable the tracker automatically switches to the Iridium satellite network to transmit data via the narrowband Iridium Short Burst Data® (SBD®) protocol, an efficient packet-based messaging service for fleets operating in remote areas without cellular coverage.
