LoRa Tags are devices that transmit locations via long range wifi to Base Stations positioned around the yard. The Base Stations in turn collect and transmit locations from every LoRa tag to the Btracking Platform, providing real-time location of yard assets at a fraction of the cost of using individual GPS trackers with cell network connections.

How Does It Work?
- Tag Assets Affix a LoRa tag to any mobile asset, such as a forklift, a pallet, a baggage trailer, a crane. LoRa tags are small devices that transmit their locations over wifi to a Base Station GPS device. LoRa tags are powered by a long-life rechargeable battery - a single charge lasts about 1 year. Tags are rechargeable with a wall charger. For outdoor assets, add an optional solar panel provides continuous recharging.
- Store & Forward Assets moving off-site? No problem. LoRa tags store data and send it a once back in range of a base station.
- Temperature Monitoring Optional temperature sensor sends an immediate alarm if the temperature deviates out of range.
- Install Base Stations Base Stations are GPS tracking devices with wifi. Base stations are connected to power with a wall charger or wire harness. A solar panel provides backup in case of power outages. Base Stations receive GPS locations from the LoRa tags and retransmit to the platform. Install Base Stations at approximately 1/2 mile intervals around the yard to create a LoRa network.

What is Btracking’s LoRa Yard Management System?
The LoRa Yard Management System uses long-range wireless tags and base stations to provide real-time location tracking for assets within a local area, such as a yard, port, warehouse, or campus.
How does the system track assets?
Each asset is fitted with a LoRa GPS tag, which transmits its location to nearby base stations using long-range WiFi. The base stations then forward this data to the Btracking platform for live location monitoring.
What types of assets can I track with LoRa tags?
You can track forklifts, pallets, trailers, cranes, baggage carts, and other mobile equipment within a facility. It’s ideal for any non-road asset that stays within a defined area.
How accurate is the tracking?
The system provides near real-time visibility and exact GPS locations when used in conjunction with properly placed base stations, spaced about ½ mile apart.
How far can LoRa tags communicate with base stations?
LoRa tags can typically communicate up to ½ mile to a base station, depending on the layout and environment of your facility. You can expand coverage by adding more base stations.
Are the tags and base stations solar powered?
Btracking offers both solar rechargeable, and rechargeable battery powered LoRa tags. Base stations require power, and have a solar panel for emergency backup.
Does the system support temperature monitoring?
Yes. Optional LoRa temperature sensors can be added to monitor environmental conditions, with instant alerts if temperatures fall outside your preset thresholds.
