GPS (Global Positioning Satellite network) and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) are highly cost-effective ways to track your vehicles and drivers – and the tools, cargo, equipment on board. Our hardware uses both systems for highly accurate, global coverage.
Trackers have a GPS/GNSS modem and a cell modem. Trackers use the GPS/GNSS networks to obtain location data about every 60 seconds or less when moving (less often when stopped), which the tracker transmits via wireless network to the mapping platform. Btracking trackers connect to the strongest local network, be it Verizon, T-Mobile AT&T or a local provider. And the data plan is always included!
Plugin trackers provide locations and vehicle data. Concerned about theft or the tracker being removed? Hide the plug-in tracker with a Y-cable. Or use a hardwired tracker and be informed when doors are opened or lights are on. Or mount a mini battery tracker with screws or magnets. You have many options!
GPS/GNSS tracking lets you see where everything is, right now. And where it’s been, where it stopped, and for how long. It also lets you monitor the health and status of your vehicles and the performance of your drivers with the Driver Safety Dashboard including the Driver Scoreboard.
If you’re looking to gain more control over your mobile assets, our fleet vehicle trackers will help your business get vehicles where they need to go in less time, safely and with less cost. In other words, more productivity, happier customers and a bigger bottom line.

Plugin Vehicle Tracker
- Plugin Vehicle Trackers Simply plugs into the onboard diagnostics (OBDII) port - usually at the bottom of the dashboard, left of the steering column. Mechanics use this same port to run vehicle diagnostics. We have a full lineup of trackers from basic location trackers to fully customizable programmable devices for any application.
- BLE Support for Tool Tracking, Sensors, Automatic Driver ID Keep track of your tools, monitor cargo temperature & humidity, get alerted when cargo doors open, and automatically ID the driver.
- Maintenance Free Plugin trackers are powered by the vehicle. When the vehicle is off, they use a tiny amount of vehicle battery. Unless your vehicle is going to sit unused for many weeks, there's no need to remove the tracker. If the tracker is removed you'll get an alert by text or email.
- Store & Forward In case of loss of cell signal, such as in a rural area with sparse coverage, the tracker stores location data for several weeks until it regains a cell connection. In case of power loss, the tracker can operate on its internal battery for up to 24 hours.
- Hiding a Plugin Vehicle Tracker For discreet installations, a plugin tracker can easily be hidden behind the dashboard in a few minutes.
- How to Hide a Plugin Vehicle Tracker Squeeze the clamps on the port and push it out of its bracket. Connect a Y-cable. Plug tracker to one side of cable and secure behind dash with tie tag. Push other side of Y-cable back into bracket.

Discreet Options - Hardwired, Battery, Hybrid Trackers
- Hardwired Vehicle Tracker These are hardwired directly to the vehicle's electrical wiring. It is not possible to get vehicle OBDII data with a hardwired tracker. However there are input/output connections for monitoring doors, lights and other peripherals.
- Discrete Mini Battery Powered Tracker They can't remove it if they can't find it. Our small-size battery tracker can send locations daily for 5 years or more. Of corse, report frequency can be adjusted to your needs anytime over the air.
- Install as a Second Tracker in High Value Vehicles Thieves usually don't look for a second tracker. Installing a battery tracker in a discrete location, pinging just once a day or so to conserve battery, is a great solution for high-value vehicles.
- Replaceable Or Rechargeable? It's your choice. We carry both types of fleet vehicle trackers.

Fleet Vehicle GPS Tracking FAQs for Cars, Vans & Light Trucks
What type of vehicles work best with Btracking's fleet vehicle GPS tracking system?
Btracking’s GPS tracking solutions for fleet vehicles are designed for all light-duty vehicles including cars, vans, and pickup trucks. It’s ideal for business fleets that need reliable location tracking, performance monitoring, and driver accountability.
What benefits can I expect from using a GPS tracker for light fleet vehicles?
Fleet managers typically see up to 20% higher vehicle utilization, 10% lower fuel expenses, and fewer maintenance issues. The system also helps reduce insurance costs and improves driver behavior by monitoring speeding, harsh braking, and after-hours use.
What’s the difference between plugin, hardwired, and battery-powered GPS trackers?
• Plugin Trackers connect to the vehicle’s OBDII port for power, and can provide real-time diagnostics, driving behavior data, driver ID and external BLE sensor data.
• Hardwired Trackers are wired to the vehicle’s electrical system, offering a permanent install with support for external sensors like door switches, ideal for discreet setups.
• Battery-Powered Trackers are fully wireless, perfect for hidden use in tracking high-value vehicles and assets.
Can I track tools or monitor cargo conditions from the same platform?
Yes! Our plugin GPS tracker supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) sensors that monitor tools on/off, cargo temperature & humidity, and additional vehicle sensors such as tire pressure. You can track tools, cargo and equipment across your fleet on the same dashboard.
What if the GPS tracker loses cellular signal?
Btracking trackers feature store-and-forward functionality—if cell service is lost, the GPS data is saved and automatically uploaded once the signal returns. Internal batteries also power the device up to 24 hours during power loss.
How do I monitor my fleet using Btracking’s platform?
You’ll have access to a web-based and mobile dashboard where you can view every vehicle, track live movement, review trip history, set alerts, view reports, schedule maintenance, and monitor your entire light-duty fleet in one place.
